Duncan stepped into the Formula Renault 3.5-litre car hot on the heels of his weekend at Nurburgring for Tottenham Hotspur in Superleague Formula. With only two 45-minute practice sessions before qualifying on Saturday, and on a new track, he was in a battle against time to learn the track and find the right set-up.

Duncan Tappy arrived in Hungary for his second World Series event hoping to improve on his Silverstone debut last month. Not only did he improve, he crossed the line in today’s race in sixth place and was the first British entrant and first rookie driver to finish.

Duncan has signed a deal to drive the remainder of the 2008 Formula Renault 3.5 Series with Italian team RC Motorsport. Since testing the World Series car last November in Spain, he has been trying to secure a drive, and finally an opportunity and funding came together.
