A1 Team Great Britain calls on Duncan Tappy for Shanghai race

Following Duncan’s A1 Team Great Britain debut in Mexico four weeks ago A1 Team Great Britain has called him up for the penultimate event in the A1GP calendar. Duncan will drive in the rookie sessions again, this time at the Shanghai Grand Prix circuit in China on Friday 11th April.

Having set out to put in a solid performance last month supporting the team, Duncan delivered and his contribution to the team has been rewarded by another drive on the international stage. Last time he supported Oliver Jarvis but this time he will partner A1 Team GBR’s other race driver Robbie Kerr.

Robbie scored a win and a second in the two 2007 races so Duncan will be looking to provide all the help he can for a repeat performance with data gathering and car preparation duties in his two 25-minute sessions.

Duncan won’t be resting until his flight next week. He’ll be back in the Autosportif team’s highly-tuned 600bhp Subaru Impreza for the event at Donington Park, Leicestershire on Sunday.

Duncan said: “I’m very very excited about getting back in the A1 car. I’m really looking forward to being at a Grand Prix circuit where the track won’t be bumpy and it’ll be nice and wide and open.

“I think the circuit will really suit me and I’ll be able to show what I can do. I’m more familiar with the car and how it feels now so hope to show a bit more of what I can do this time.”

Katie Clements, Team Principal A1 Team GBR, added: “I’m pleased to invite Duncan back to drive the rookie sessions. He did a solid job for us in Mexico and I’m sure he will be a good support to Robbie next weekend.”
