Duncan named British Club Driver of the Year

Duncan has won British Club Driver of the Year at the Autosport Awards in London. At the prestigious ceremony Duncan was in the company of many great names and fellow award winer Lewis Hamilton took time to talk to Duncan at the end of the evening and compare notes.

Duncan is following Lewis in many ways. 2003 saw Lewis Hamilton claim the Formula Renault UK title and then the British Club Driver of the Year, just as Duncan has himself and Duncan is aiming on moving up to international racing next season just as Lewis Hamilton did at the same stage.

This latest award was voted for by the public and as well as Lewis, has been won by motorsport greats such as F1 stars Eddie Irvine, Allan McNish, David Coulthard and current triple World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx.

Duncan said: “2007 has been a fantastic year for me. To have won the Formula Renault UK title was amazing and to get this recognition is particularly special as it is voted for by Autosport readers who know their stuff! I would like to thank them all for their votes.

“It was a great evening and really good to chat to Lewis, given that he’s been where I am now. He told me to get my head down and look to my next step which is hopefully abroad with World Series by Renault, just as he went overseas to race in F3.”
